Alex Nottingham

Co-Owner, Club Director and 5/6th Grade Coach

With over seven years of coaching experience spanning middle school, high school, and club levels, our club director brings a well-rounded and deeply practiced approach to athlete development. Currently in his third season as Head Volleyball Coach at Inglemoor High School, he also serves as a Nike Volleyball Camp Director — roles that reflect both his competitive expertise and his commitment to growing the game at every level.

As Co-Owner of Viking Volleyball Club, his vision is rooted in building a strong, supportive volleyball community where athletes of all ages can thrive. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the mastery of foundational and fundamental skills as the cornerstone of long-term athletic growth — giving every player the tools they need to reach their full potential.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance and a Master's degree in Teaching from Eastern Oregon University. Working to become a PE/Health teacher.

Gene Wang

Co-Owner and 5/6th Grade Coach

Gene Wang brings three decades of volleyball coaching experience and an unwavering passion for athlete development to Viking Volleyball Club. Currently serving as Head Volleyball Coach at Northshore Middle School in Bothell, Gene has built a distinguished coaching career that spans both the high school and middle school levels — including notable tenures at Woodinville High School and Forest Ridge High School.

With 30 years on the court and 32 years in the classroom as a Health and Fitness teacher, Gene offers a rare combination of coaching depth and educational expertise. His approach to the game is rooted in a genuine love for teaching — meeting athletes where they are, building their confidence, and helping them grow both as players and as people.

As Co-Owner of Inglemoor Volleyball Club, Gene is committed to creating a program where every athlete — regardless of experience level — feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their potential.

Deserae Wood

Kylie Lunday

7/8th Grade Development Program Coach

Originally from Missoula, Montana, she relocated to the Seattle area in 2019 and quickly made her mark as both a collegiate athlete and emerging coach. She began her collegiate career at Highline Community College, competing in both volleyball and basketball, before transferring to Northwest University in Kirkland — where she continued in both sports while earning her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Education.

Following her undergraduate career, she remained at Northwest University to compete as the starting 1's pair blocker on the beach volleyball team while completing her Master of Teaching degree — a testament to her dedication to both athletic excellence and professional growth in education.

Her coaching career spans both the indoor and beach volleyball disciplines. She has coached indoor volleyball with Blue Royals Volleyball Club and beach volleyball with Northwest Juniors and Sudden Impact Volleyball Club, and has served as the volleyball coach at Northshore Middle School. She currently teaches Physical Education in the Northshore School District, bringing the same energy and intentionality from the classroom to the court each day.

Jackson Wang

7/8th Grade Development Program Coach

Coach Jackson brings eight years of playing experience and five years of coaching to Viking Volleyball Club — a combination that gives him a unique perspective on the game from both sides of the whistle. As a current member of the University of Washington club volleyball team, he remains an active competitor who understands firsthand what it takes to grow and perform at a high level.

His coaching resume includes two years with Washington Volleyball Academy and seasonal work directing Nike Volleyball Camps, where he has helped athletes of all ages sharpen their skills in a high-energy, development-focused environment. Coach Jackson is passionate about meeting athletes where they are and helping them build the confidence and fundamentals to take their game to the next level.
